TJ Frank โ€” live workshop teaching

You're already needling.
You're seeing results.
But there's a gap.

You have the training. You have the hours in clinic. You're getting results with the points you trust.

But there are patients where you're less certain. Where you reach for your reliable combinations and hope the treatment moves things in the right direction. Where the pattern in front of you doesn't quite fit what you learned, and you're working from instinct more than framework.

Most practitioners who needle know this feeling. Not doubt โ€” you're qualified, you know your craft. Something more specific: the sense that there's a more systematic way to read what a patient needs, and you haven't fully found it yet.

You don't have four years to go back to university.
But you do have two days.

That gap is what this workshop is designed to close.

TJ Frank doesn't just teach needling.
He teaches meridian mastery.

Over 20 years of clinical practice, TJ has developed a framework that focuses on one outcome โ€” meridian release. Your first skillset is knowing which meridians to treat. The second is how to sequence the needles to get the whole meridian to release โ€” the secret to lasting, powerful results for your clients.

He's taught this framework to hundreds of practitioners. People travel to Maui specifically to learn directly from him. Now, for the first time, he's bringing it to Australia.

What he teaches isn't theory for its own sake. It's a working clinical model โ€” the kind you bring to every treatment room, every patient, from the week after the workshop.

TJ Frank in a focused treatment session

TJ graduated from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2005 and spent a decade working in clinical practice in Maui, Hawaii. He has trained extensively in China and has taught his meridian framework to practitioners across the US and internationally.

His approach integrates Western anatomical understanding with the classical meridian system in a way that is immediately applicable in clinical practice.

What TJ teaches isn't available
anywhere else in this format.

"Before this training I was getting results with acupuncture โ€” but I was never totally sure why the treatments were working. TJ's framework changed that completely. I understand the meridian system in a way I didn't before โ€” which meridians need releasing and then knowing which points in which sequence to use. I'm using fewer points and getting better results. For any practitioner who needles and wants to understand why their treatments work โ€” this is the training."
โ€” Dr. Tom Rolley FRACGP, GP & Medical Acupuncturist, Byron Bay

Most CPD gives you information.
This is different.

Most workshops present from the front. You watch, you take notes, you go home and try to remember what you learned. Two weeks later you're back doing what you already know.

This workshop is built differently.

1

Hands-on correction throughout both days

TJ doesn't demonstrate from the front and take questions at the end. He is beside you, adjusting your technique, explaining what you're feeling and why it matters clinically. You'll see TJ needle, then you'll do it and TJ will review and improve your technique in real time. The learning happens in the correction, not the lecture. That doesn't happen online. It happens in this workshop.

2

All 12 meridians. Not a sample, not a highlight reel.

Most meridian CPD focuses on a handful of channels. This workshop covers every meridian across two full days โ€” anatomy, function, clinical associations, and key points for each. You leave with the complete picture, not a partial map.

3

A framework, not a recipe

The goal isn't to send you home with new point combinations to try. It's to give you the assessment logic to work out the right treatment for any client in front of you. You'll understand how to set up chain-and-link patterns on each meridian and the empirical points to trigger the release. That's the difference between precision and hope.

All 12 meridians and the key points on them.
Plus four powerful Qi Gong forms.

Each meridian follows the same rhythm โ€” TJ teaches the pathway and point logic, demonstrates, the group practises on partners, and TJ moves through the room to correct and refine.

From practitioners who've
trained with TJ.

TJ's approach is unlike anything I encountered in my acupuncture training. The way he connects the meridian system to what you're actually seeing and feeling in the treatment room โ€” it makes everything click. I walked out of that workshop treating differently from the very next patient.

Acupuncturist, Sydney

I've been dry needling for six years and always felt like I was missing the bigger picture. This workshop gave me that picture. The hands-on correction alone was worth the two days โ€” you can't get that from a webinar.

Frequently asked questions.

Yes โ€” this workshop is specifically designed for practitioners who needle from all backgrounds. Dry needlers frequently find TJ's meridian framework the most useful component of their training, because it gives clinical reasoning to go alongside the technique they already have. Many of the workshop participants will be physios and allied health practitioners, not just acupuncturists.
You need to be currently licensed to needle and actively using needling in clinical practice. Basic familiarity with meridian concepts is helpful but not required โ€” the workshop starts from first principles. You don't need to know the Bhaktiatsu system before you arrive.
No. The hands-on correction and the clinical learning that happens in the room cannot be recorded. There is no online version of this workshop.
Loose, comfortable clothing suitable for receiving and practising needling. Your own needle supply if you have a preference. The Bhaktiatsu Advanced Acupuncture Manual will be posted to you before the workshop โ€” bring it with you.
Yes. Sydney and Byron Bay are separate standalone events covering the same full curriculum. Some practitioners choose to attend both to deepen their practice โ€” each repetition reinforces the framework. If you're attending both, contact us for a multi-event rate.
Yes. Three weekly payments of $283, available until 14 June. All three payments clear before 30 June โ€” the full $849 is claimable as professional development in FY2025โ€“26. Select the payment plan option at checkout.
For licensed practitioners, this qualifies as professional development. All three payment plan instalments fall before 30 June โ€” the full $849 is claimable in FY2025โ€“26. Confirm with your accountant for your specific situation.
Up to 14 days before the workshop and before 30 June, your place transfers to another licensed practitioner or converts to full credit toward a future Bhaktiatsu event valid for 18 months. See the full policy in the section above.
The practitioners who get the most from this workshop are usually the ones with the most experience. You have the clinical hours to immediately recognise what TJ is showing you โ€” and the patient load to apply it the following week. The framework is most valuable when you already have a practice to bring it back to.

P.S. โ€” You already know the meridians are there. You already know your treatments would land differently if you understood them properly. This is two days to get that โ€” without four years of acupuncture school. Your clients get better results. You walk out knowing exactly what you're doing and why. That's what's on the other side of this workshop when you register today.

TJ Frank โ€” Full Background

TJ started his medical training 20 years ago in emergency medicine as an EMT, then continued at UC Davis with a degree in Cognitive Neuroscience โ€” the study of consciousness and the physical brain.

He worked in Western medicine for 14 years across multiple fields: emergency medicine, forensics, cardiovascular wellness education, laboratory medicine, and diagnostics. But something was missing.

He found it in Chinese Medicine โ€” a field where he could treat the root of a problem instead of just its symptoms. In graduate school, TJ began studying Zen Shiatsu. Combined with acupuncture and Chinese Medical Theory, a new medicine began forming within him. His devout training in Qi Gong taught him how to cultivate and move energy in himself and for others.

TJ graduated with a Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, including Shiatsu, Chinese Medical Theory, Qi Gong, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Dietary Therapy. Post-graduate, he travelled to study at three hospitals in Nanjing, China, integrating acupuncture, massage, and herbal medicine with modern biomedicine.

He spent time travelling internationally โ€” India, Thailand, Nepal, Austria, Ireland, the U.S. โ€” practising, studying, and integrating. It was through this period that his adaptation of Zen Shiatsu found its form: Bhaktiatsu.

For the past decade, TJ has lived on Maui, where he spent years studying with Ram Dass and serving a growing clinical practice. His approach integrates the precision of Western anatomy with the depth of the classical meridian system โ€” a combination that produces results most practitioners encounter nowhere else in their training.
